Plaintiff in Baxter County receives hand-written letter.

Here’s a note that wound up in the mailbox of Dessa Blackthorn, the plaintiff in the AHA’s discrimination case in my hometown.  Surprise: no return address was provided.

Dessaa Dessab

Dear Dessa Blackthorn,

I am a resident of Mtn. Home. The nativity seen at the court house has always meant something to me. You see I am a Christian and a patriot of this country.

Do you know what is actually in your complaint? Your complain will remove the nativity seen if you win the case.

This country was founded by Christian men. Ninety nine point seven(?) who wrote the Constitution were Christian men. There is no such thing as separation from church and state. If someone tells you this, they are wrong.

Our country has been very blessed by God and Jesus Christ, but our nation has fallen away from the God of the Bible. We are now under his judgement. Just look at the world of terrorism and natural disasters. Your action just adds to the judgement of a just god.

If you read the bible you will see what is happening to the world and this country.

We as a nation need to get back to the bible. Now is the time to do so or this nation is lost.

Jesus loves you and all you have to do is believe in him or you are lost.

The bible tells us the wages of sin is death.

Are you one of the chosen own for heaven or for faith? You have a choice god gave you that. Choice of life or death.

Sincerely in Christ Jesus,

Richard

It’s like a laundry list of inane Fox News talking points.

Even if this nation was founded by Christian men (many of them were, plenty weren’t), so what?  Christian men are perfectly capable of understanding that religious liberty requires separation of church and state.

He also called god a just god in the very sentence after he credits/blames god for natural disasters which kill Christians and non-Christians alike, as well as criminals and non-criminals alike.  If this sounds like justice to you you’re warped.

And he closes with the classic threat: believe or be tortured for all eternity (oh, and god loves you).

So glad I got out of that town, but so happy some of the citizens there are fighting to make it better.
