Porn Sunday

Most of you have probably heard of XXXChurch.com.   If you haven’t, it is basically a Christian ministry to help men (and women) deal with addiction to pornography.  They go out of their way to try to address an issue that is serious, yet embarrassing to talk about.

Apparently, they are declaring February 6, 2011 (Super Bowl Sunday) as Porn Sunday.  The goal is to try to get church people to talk about the issue openly and honestly instead of keeping it the “elephant in the pew.”  From the website:

“On February 6, 2011 millions of people will watch the biggest football game on Sunday afternoon. It’s time to confront the elephant in the pew. Join with over 300 churches on 5 continents to tackle this issue on February 6th.

We are opening up registration to Churches and to Individuals that want to throw “Porn Sunday Pre-Game” Parties. If you are the pastor of a church or an individual that is willing to organize a house party at your home. Sign up below!”

If nothing else, you could register your church and change your sign to say “PORN SUNDAY” as a push for new visitors.
