Frequently Asked Questions

What is the significance of the pentagram?

The pentagram, a five-pointed star, is often used as a symbol for contemporary Paganism (much like Christians use the symbol of the cross). The five points of the star correspond to the five elements: Earth, Air, Fire, Water, and Spirit. The star is set within a circle, symbolizing unification or connection between the five elements.  The pentagram is also sometimes understood as a human figure (head, arms, legs) inscribed within the circle of the Goddess, God, or gods.  The pentagram is sometimes confused with the Sigil of Baphomet , but the two have very different meanings.
