I think the reason why the angels and God asked me to keep it a secret until now is because now is when God wants the world to know more.
So you think it was based on timing?
Yes, I believe that it was timing. Because when Michael had said that I would start to write soon and I laughed, he also said that "those will be sent to help." All the miracles have been happening. Even today, like doing this interview with you, has been fantastic. It's great to hear you have a wonderful website like that. And you have asked and you have listened without being afraid.
You address this in the book, but do you believe that the opposite exists as well, like fallen angels, the Devil and Hell?
Those things do exist. I can only tell you what God has told me and what God has shown me. I'm afraid Satan does [exist] and that is what they would call him in the Catholic religion and I don't know if they would call him something else in another religion.
The book's tone is very optimistic about the possibility of other people being able to listen to the angels as well. But there is a lot of truth in it. There are tragedies and triumphs. Was the tone of optimism a conscious decision on your part?
Yes, I believe that everyone out there has the opportunity to hear the guidance that is given them from the angels. I would say to some people that it is communicating with your soul. And your soul is in your body. Your body is like a tool. You know how someone might say "I got a good feeling inside of me" or "I felt very strongly that I should go right but instead I went left." You give yourself a kick then. And the next time "I will try and go the way I felt I should have gone."
The angels are great teachers. A lot of people would say "What does this mean?" or "What's in it for me?" Sometimes there is nothing there, they are just teaching you. Many times, you are told "Go there now; down to the shop," and you don't need anything. And you're at work and you're told "Go off and get a pencil." They are teaching you that, when there is something really serious and really important in your life, how to make the right decision.
What is your main message, for readers of this memoir?
I believe that is to give them back hope, faith within themselves; to realize that they have a soul and to join for peace. Also, to join families back together because if families don't have peace how can the world have peace?
Good point. Speaking of family, how do your children feel about what you can see?
When I started to write the book and as they got older, I would tell them some things. And now my children say, "Mum, we knew you were different than other mums." They are very supportive. They are very aware.
Since your children are aware you are a mystic and can see angels, do you think that has affected their lives in any way? Or their faith?
I think this has actually made it stronger. It has enhanced their abilities to be just, kind, and to help others.
Do your children pray?
They do. I think they are the same as every young person out there. I think that faith has become pretty personal to young people now, because of all the things that they have been opened up to and what they see going on around them. Here in Ireland we are having a lot of suicides. And it's a lot of young people and I mean really young people.
Why is that?
There have been so many materialistic things here. I don't know about over in America, but it's all about looks and appearance here. Young people are just being torn apart by it.
Is the economic crisis part of why there have been so many suicides in Ireland?
I think so, and the young people are just feeling so lost. I get a lot of letters from young people who have lost friends to suicide. The words they always say are "I wish my friend had read Angels in My Hair because that would have given her hope and she would have known that she was not alone." I am always so amazed that they are all using the same wording because these young people don't know each other. They send the letters to the prayer scroll and yet they use the same words: "hope" and "they would know they are not alone."
What would be your advice to young spiritual seekers who don't have a mother who is a mystic?
I would say to them to ask their guardian angel for help everyday. A lot of people ask, "What is my angel's name?" Because so many people asked, I went to the angels and asked them what to say. They told me the angel's name is in every person's heart and they already know it.
Since you have released your book, has anyone done a pilgrimage to your home to ask you about angels or their own angel?
