Soul Check

Soul Check September 26, 2012

“How long has the filter light been on?” I asked my husband.

“Probably a few weeks,” he answered without even looking at what I was referring too and continued to do the dishes.

“The refrigerator water filter light has been on for a few weeks and I haven’t noticed it? Why haven’t you said anything?”

He simply shrugged, “It can’t be a big deal, right?”

I mulled over his nonchalant answer and wondered what else I wasn’t seeing that was right in front of me.

How many times have you done the same? The CHANGE OIL light comes on in your car and you disregard it, whether because of low finances, time, or both? The furnace filter needs to be changed twice a year, and even though your family keeps getting colds and having sinus problems, you decide it can handle another season? All of things can be damaging, but what about your SOUL CHECK LIGHT? This is the one that you can’t see, but you feel. The symptoms vary from soul to soul and there’s no mechanic that can completely fix it, instead it is up to you. Is it on? Now what? You have to FLUSH the soul, push the RESET button, and add some good LOVE to it in order to get it to work again.

If you are hanging on to negativity from the past, a grudge that you haven’t released, sore feelings from a friend (past friend) or relative I am betting that your SOUL CHECK LIGHT is on.

If you aren’t finding joy within your career, I am betting that your SOUL CHECK LIGHT is on.

If you are feeling run down, having medical issues, are depressed or just overall feel blue, I am betting that your SOUL CHECK LIGHT is on.

Do you answer how my husband does? “It can’t be a big deal, right?” And simply ignore the light until this caution starts severely effecting your body, mind and spirit, or are you taking care of it right now so that you don’t have any further issues?

FLUSH, RESET and LOVE.

“To make the right choices in life, you have to get in touch with your soul. To do this, you need to experience solitude, which most people are afraid of, because in the silence you hear the truth and know the solutions.” Deepak K. Chopra

Flush what isn’t working in your life. My friend and I have this thing when we see what shouldn’t be in one another’s life we say ‘FLUSH IT’. For me, I write down what I am upset with on a piece of paper and flush it down the toilet (no, my plumbing doesn’t back up!). Letting it go helps to release some of what might be clogging the Soul Filter.

Resetting your soul requires time and patience, and sometimes the assistance of others; a medical physician, a life coach, a best friend, etc. Changing what isn’t working in your life, changing who isn’t working in your life, eating healthier, getting good sleep, setting goals and thinking positively are keys to the quest of finding and hitting RESET.

“As long as you know what it is you desire, then by simply affirming that it is yours — firmly and positively, with no ifs, buts, or maybes — over and over again, from the minute you arise in the morning until the time you go to sleep at night, and as many times during the day as your work or activities permit, you will be drawn to those people, places, and events that will bring your desires to you.” ~Scott Reed

And finally LOVE. To keep the soul in check, you need to keep adding doses of love to it – self love. Oh sure, others can help, but this is your soul and your soul alone. If you use a generic variety of love, it might work temporarily, but will burn faster and quicker and won’t give you the same results.

Today is a good day to see if your CHECK SOUL light is on and act appropriately.

Believe,

Kristy
