Here in the Midwest we have had an unusually warm winter. In fact, with only a couple days of actual snow accumulation, we really haven’t had a winter at all. Then I walked outside this morning, the sun was shining, it was around 65 degrees, and the birds were chirping. It felt like the world was singing!
O sweet spontaneous earth, how often have the doting fingers of prurient philosophers pinched and poked thee, has the naughty thumb of science prodded thy beauty? How often have religions taken thee upon their scraggy knees, squeezing and buffeting thee that thou mightest conceive gods? But true to the incomparable couch of death, thy rhythmic lover, thou answerest them only with spring.
— e. e. cummings
This is no doubt premature — it will get cold tomorrow again. But while the sun is shining, I will soak it up! Evoe Kore!
