Election 2008: Standing up to hate

When three people handed out “Obama for Change” bumper stickers at a John McCain rally in Woodbridge, Virginia, many passers by noticed that they featured a Communist sickle and hammer and the Islamic crescent, accusing Barack Obama of being a socialist with ties to radical Islam. Several of the McCain supporters, Muslim and Christian alike, angrily berated those distributing the stickers until they got fed up and left. More proof that Muslim involvement at all levels – and all sides – of the political system helps call Islamophobic bluffs wherever they pop up. (More here…)
