7 Quick Takes Friday: 7 Things I Never Thought I’d Do

So for this Friday’s Quick Takes, in honor of my recent home birth, I’m going to share 7 things I never thought I’d do. However, I’m not explaining any of these; a few probably won’t need explanations, and the rest I’ll explain later this week when I write the post about the birth. Here we go!

#7
Have children

#6
Like my children

#5
Deliver a baby on the living room carpet
(Don’t worry, I’m mercifully omitting that particular image)

#4
Sponge-bathe tiny testicles

#3
Wear adult diapers

#2
Have a dehydrated, heart-shaped umbilical cord sitting on my kitchen counter

#1
Eat my placenta

If you’re not too repulsed, I’ll see you guys in a few days with some explanations.

#7- Aren't you glad you did, though?#6- Of course you are. My name was Emily Alexander before I got married. Small world, I guess.#5-Not sure if I want to try that. If I was to birth at home, I think I'd choose an air mattress or a pool…#4-Mama's job is to keep 'em clean, I guess. I have diaper wiped such tiny appendages, but not actually bathed.#3- Are they comfortable?#2-It's clean. I've had dirtier things on my counter.#1-Still thinking about whether I will ever try that one.
