Black communities suffer because of a subculture within them, Here’s how to stop it February 28, 2017

Chicago just had one of its deadliest days of 2017. Seven people were shot dead; five of which happened in just two hours. It’s a real problem in the city but not one that is isolated. Other cities are experiencing similar rates of crime, too, and all of them have the same reasons to blame.

Cities like Chicago are failing because of two things: anti-cop sentiment perpetrated by groups like Black LIES Matter and other progressive movements, and the cultural dysfunction within the inner cities.

Now, I want to make one thing clear: I’m not talking about everyone in the black community. There is a subculture within the black community that deserves the majority of the blame for the soaring murder and crime rates. That’s who I’m talking about.

Using Chicago as the example, we see that in such a big city, the murders and high-crime areas are isolated to about five neighborhoods. The violence is certainly spreading outside those areas, but generally, there are five problem areas. These areas have been hit most by a collapse of the social order. Populating this subculture is a black underclass that lives by different rules than everybody else. They are the ones responsible for the vast majority of this black-on-black violence. They’re killing each other at a rapid pace.

The cultural dysfunction that has penetrated these neighborhoods has manifested itself in the following ways: a majority of children born out of wedlock; fatherless homes; generational poverty that relies too heavily on government handouts; school failure, poor graduation rates; questionable lifestyle choices of gangs, drug abuse, and crime; failing to stay in the workforce. This underclass used to be a small segment of the overall black community, but it’s growing by leaps and bounds as more and more stay in this cultural rot.

But the other side to this breakdown is the failure in policing. The higher-ups in the departments are making terrible decisions and tying the hands of its police force. For example, the former Chicago Police Superintendent Garry McCarthy capitulated to the anti-police crowd and signed an agreement that allowed the ACLU and a member of Black Lives Matter to join a panel and help write police policy. That’s not good policing, that’s insanity. Are you starting to get the idea why the violence has gotten so bad in Chicago?

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: If we misdiagnose the problem, we will apply the wrong remedy. The war on police has caused officers to pull back in high-crime areas because they’re worried something will go wrong and they will be offered up as the sacrificial lamb. A female officer in Oklahoma was recently assaulted by a criminal, and she admitted to being hesitant to use her sidearm because she didn’t want to end up on the front page. The same thing happened with a detective in Alabama, who suffered a beating rather than defend himself to avoid becoming the next Ferguson.

We need more cops who are supported by their superiors to do their jobs and get these criminals off the street. We need to abandon these policies written by social engineers who have plagued us with ideas of so-called second-chance programs.

There was a perfect opportunity with President Obama to turn our black communities around. He, along with Rep. Maxine Waters and Rep. Elijah Cummings, could have spoken strongly against the problems in the black subculture and encourage them to seek better lifestyles. Instead, they went after the criminal justice system, blasted it as racist, slandered cops, and thereby emboldened these criminals.

But that’s why I do what I do. I speak the truth, even it’s not popular, in hopes to encourage a new attitude in these communities to rise out of the underclass and lead a productive life.

I had a great discussion about this with Curt Schilling on Breitbart radio. Click CONTINUE to listen for yourself:
