Filmmaker Craig Detweiler, Ph.D., directs the Center for Entertainment, Media and Culture and the new masters program in media production at Pepperdine University. His books include the first collection on theology and video games, Halos and Avatars: Playing Video Games with God and Into the Dark, which searches for the sacred amidst the top-ranked films on the Internet Movie Database. His latest documentary, (un)Common Sounds, explores peacemaking via Muslim and Christian ethnomusicologists (www.songsforpeaceproject.org). His next book, Don’t Stop Believin’: Pop Culture and Religion from Ben Hur to Zombies, will be released in October.
