Quote of the Day, Inspired by Last Night’s Survivor Finale

Normally, people at least pretend they have big plans when presented with a large sum of money.  Sometimes, they say they’ll give a portion to charity.  Other times, they talk about beginning a business.  Not twenty-three year old Survivor contest Eddie, whose Survivor profile listed his “claim to fame” as “helping others.”

“If I do win the million dollar prize I want to open, like, a dog kinda like shelter kennel playpen area, like attached to a bar.  Like, those are my two favorite things. I like dogs and I like bars, so if I can open a bar, and, like, you just bring your dog there, that would be unbelievable.”

– Eddie, describing what he’d do with the money if he won the $1 million prize

And if that were to happen, how fast would it devolve into a dog fighting arena?

That one is pretty much par for the course as far as Eddie is concerned, and by that I mean it is not even the dumbest thing he has said all season. Even with all of the really bad contestants this proved to be a very interesting season, and the right person won. I almost missed the finale last night because traffic was awful coming home from work at DISH last night, but thankfully there was a recording waiting for me at home. I am so glad my DISH Hopper recorded everything on CBS during primetime, so I didn’t miss anything.

I was thrilled for Cochran, sad for Dawn. Poor Dawn. :(
