This heroic mother threw herself in front of children as Uber gunman opened fire

The swift and selfless action of one mother saved the lives of several children recently.  When Tiana Carruthers came face to face with a mass shooter on a playground full of children, she responded by jumping in front of the children, shielding them from the bullets.

The Daily Mail reports:

Tiana Carruthers was outside her Kalamazoo, Michigan, apartment with several youngsters on a playground at around 5:00pm on Saturday when the suspect, who’s been named as Jason Dalton, pulled up in his Chevrolet.

Sensing trouble, the mother put herself between the attacker and the children, and was shot multiple times as a result, but survived and was able to give the police vital evidence that helped them catch the suspected killer.

Thankfully, Tiana is on the mend and doctors report she will survive her injuries.

I am glad that we are telling the story of Tiana’s bravery, rather than the story of her depraved shooter.  Despite what may be said about us by our enemies around the world or by our own media, America is a nation full of heroes like Tiana who are willing to lay down their lives for others.
