When the national anthem played before a New England Patriots game, everything appeared to be going off without a hitch. No one was sitting or kneeling. But right as The Star-Spangled Banner was yet waving O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave, players Devin McCourty and Martellus Bennett raised their fists. SB Nation states that Martellus was also the inspiration behind the Seattle Seahawks’ “demonstration of unity.” Meaning, they locked arms on the sidelines. Martellus’s brother Michael Bennett plays for the Seahawks.
