7 Quick Takes Friday

It’s Friday again, and here we are.

Atticus and I are re-doing our room. I decided at the end of last cycle that I need a project, since “Project fill Sarah’s empty womb” is going so well, something else is required to distract me from the dismal failure of above endeavor.

We have a sweet room. Our house is old. It was built in 1936, back when middle-class people had two bedroom homes, regardless of the number of children they had.

When the house was built, it had two bedrooms on the main floor. The owners before us (I think), finished half of the attic and made it a master bedroom suite.

So we have a huge bedroom with a walk-in closet and our own bathroom. It has also been woefully empty for a while, with tons of dead space because neither of us has ever had a room this large. Not sure how to fill it.

There’s a little nook which is the perfect size for a sitting area, so we got a little loveseat for our nook. Old houses have lots of nooks, and I love them.

This loveseat is awesome. The cushions are filled with down feathers. I sat down on it and didn’t move for 15 minutes, which was awkward since we were in someone else’s house. It’s the perfect color. And we found it on Craigs List for less than 10% of its original $5,000 price tag.

So comfy.

The yellow walls you see behind you are being painted a color called Artesian Well.

It goes on more of a blue-green. I’ll post photos when we start painting.

The accent colors are oatmeal, teal, coral, and cocolate brown.

I’m so stinking excited. Will do a whole post just on the room re-do when it’s all over.

I got a pair of red TOMS for my birthday back in February, and then we had more winter and I couldn’t wear them. I was sad.

Then spring finally came, and I have been wearing them non-stop. Maggie loves them. She says when I put them on:

“Mommy’s toms shoes. Maggie like toms shoes. Maggie’s toms shoes?”

Did you know they make them for toddlers??

It was fortuitous that they have free shipping right now, as M’s sneakers are just barely fitting on her feet and its time for some new ones. Yes!

After having a terrible time with my HCG injections last cycle (as in, they didn’t work and I was mad), this cycle has been better.

Two down, two to go.

Please pray nothing goes wrong between now and Monday, which is the day of the p+9 last injection.

Also please pray I resist the temptation to POAS, since I don’t know what would be worse at this point than getting a false positive.

I haven’t written about IF much lately, mostly because….I don’t feel like there’s much else to say other than

Still not pregnant. Still sucks. The end.

But, if this cycle ends in defeat (which it probably will), then I will be writing a post with some thoughts I’ve had on this whole ttc thing. If this cycle ends with, well, another cycle beginning, then it will be 12 cycles completed. 12 months TTC and 12 cycles. And there’s stuff there. Most of it is not pretty. But I’m sure I will feel the need to take stock.

Till then, I’m going to try and “enjoy” the 2ww and cling to some small sliver of hope that this might be the cycle. Yeah. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.
