John 14: The Way, the Truth, and the Life

John 14: The Way, the Truth, and the Life April 26, 2011

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

This one verse shatters the postmodern notion of relativism. There is truth, absolute truth, and it is found in Jesus Christ.

Those who come to the Father do so through Jesus. He is clear on this issue.

This does leave difficult questions regarding young children who die, those who cannot choose due to mental incapability, or the plight of those who have never heard.

But these questions are the right questions to ask based on what is clear. John 14 presents Jesus offering himself as the only way. This concept would later be repeated by the apostles (Acts 4:12) and the apostle Paul (Romans 1:16), not redefined or adjusted as some have done so today.

Jesus is not a way; Jesus is the way.

The way, the truth, and the life.
