Thank God for Freedom in Jesus Christ

Thank God for Freedom in Jesus Christ – is a devotional about the way in which Jesus was born to give us freedom, something which we should be thankful for.

We just finished Halloween, and we are now entering the official “holiday” season. I went to Walmart yesterday to find Christmas decorations for sale. A friend remarked on Facebook today that the Hallmark Channel started to show holiday films. It just seems that Christmas keeps getting sooner and sooner each year. As we enter this season, we may easily forget to give God thanks for the Reason we celebrate this season. Anna, the prophetess thanked God for the birth of Jesus Christ. She thanked God for the freedom which Jesus would bring.

“…and talked about the child to all who were waiting expectantly for the freeing of Jerusalem.” (Luke 2:38, The Message)

Anna was looking forward to Jesus Christ and the way He would free Jerusalem from the prison of Rome. In the same way, you can thank God today. He wants to release you from the prison of busyness this holiday season will bring. Jesus came to bring us closer to God and to be part of God’s family. Let Jesus free you from the burden of the holidays so that you can truly take time to enjoy Him.
