your travels through may part of the country reminds me, have you ever read any of Janis Owens’ books? Her novels are three different novels about the same events told from three different points of view. She is from Mariana, FL and proudly (as I do) claims the title “Cracker.”
Just wondering, think you might like them if you haven’t read them already.
Anyways, hope you are having a good trip!
having a great trip and I have read Janis’s books and love them. She is a good Cracker. Her daddy was The Ambassador in Doublewide.
Oops! That should read “my part of the country” and not “may.”
I really need to learn to proof read.
no worries, I knew what you meant.
I LOVE places like this, but hate that they are closed and part of the past. Very cool! I love photographing places like this!
The store reminds me of the one that was on Shake Rag Road just west of our farm.!!! Someone recently turned the store building into a small dwelling. History of the area is gradually disappearing.
I notice some of the funniest names from addresses in the south on packages we’re sending from where I work, RBC Ministries. I and a friend were joking about gambling, and lo and behold “Black Jack Baptist Church” somewhere down there is on a label. ha!
South Alabama? Where this be? Peace.
