Holy Father’s Prayer Intentions for August

I’m late to post these, but am so moved by both of Pope Francis’ intentions for August:

That parents and teachers may help the new generation to grow in upright conscience and life.

That the local Church in Africa, faithfully proclaiming the Gospel, may promote peace and justice.

Find additional commentary by the Apostleship of Prayer on both intentions here.

  • Guess what?? Chance meeting with Fr. Jim Kubicki, director of Apostleship of Prayer while at Conception Abbey/Seminary for Joel’s deacon formation this week. Father was a leading a separate retreat here. Anyway, we had such a great talk with him about AOP, and he mentioned the prayer intentions will soon change to a Universal Intention, rather than General — in the sense all of the world, Catholic and beyond, can join in prayer over this intention; and an Evangelical Intention, rather than Mission, given mission territory is everywhere, often no further than our front porch – really plays on the spirit of the new evangelization. Enjoy the pic! 🙂
