Prayer Requests

A reader writes:

I’d like to ask for prayers for a former teacher of mine, who had to bury her son yesterday after he was suddenly killed in an accident last weekend. Her faith is strong, but please pray for her strength and peace as she gets through this difficult time, and please pray for her son and her family as well.

Father, hear our prayer for the boy who was killed that he would dwell now in eternal peace and light, and for the woman and all who love him who are enduring his loss. Grant them grace, peace, strength and consolation through Jesus Christ. Mother Mary, Our Lady of Sorrows, pray for them.

Another reader writes to ask for prayer for a priest who is in a period of discernment and not serving as an associate pastor.

Father, hear our prayer that this priest discern and do your will through Christ our Lord. Mother Mary and St. Jean Vianney, pray for him.

Finally, I would like to ask prayer for a number of people struggling with anger and despair, and for a priest friend whose back is now so bad he is bedridden. Thanks, youse guys! Your prayers over the years have yielded some remarkable fruit. Keep it up. God hears! Let’s see what he does next!

I aplogize that my comment does not apply to the article in question, but I have come across a paragraph that is one of the most beautiful things that I have ever read, and I want to disseminate it over the Internet.

    Human Person and the Tabernacle

Paragraph from page 344 of Volume 1 of The Mystical Evolution in the Development and Vitality of the Church by Father Juan Arintero, O.P.

“One day, at the time of Communion, Blessed Mariana of Jesus, the Lily of Madrid, being unusually aware of her lowliness and unworthiness, said to her Lord: “My Lord, the tabernacle in which Thou art is much more clean and beautiful.” Christ answered her: “But it cannot love me.” “From this,” said the holy nun, I understood how much more Christ prefers to reside in our souls than in gold or silver or precious jewels which are inanimate creatures incapable of love.”

Praying in PA. Sunday’s glorious mysteries, closing with “Queen of Heaven, rejoice, alleluia. For He whom you did merit to bear, alleluia.Has risen, as he said, alleluia. Pray for us to God, alleluia.Rejoice and be glad, O Virgin Mary, alleluia. For the Lord has truly risen, alleluia.Let us pray. O God, who gave joy to the world through the resurrection of Thy Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, grant we beseech Thee, that through the intercession of the Virgin Mary, His Mother, we may obtain the joys of everlasting life. Through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.”

I want God to make me strong for him and love him always beside what happens to me and the suffering I endure. I want to be full of love always pleasing to him and to be full of his love and compassion. Also pray for Diane to come to the Lord and know how great he is. Amen
