What Gives Me Hope?

This Homecoming Queen and the school that roared with gladness at her coronation gives me hope:

The ideal American, held up for us all day long by the Manufacturers of Culture, is the winner of the grim Darwinian struggle for success in politics, business, entertainment, virtually none of whom any normal person would want to emulate in their lived existence since becoming Madonna, Trump, Obama, Romney, Gaga and Co. comes at the cost of one’s soul.

But the real American does this sort of thing all the time and only gets brief mention in “color pieces” on the evening news before our attention is directed back to the Ideal American by the winners of the grim Darwinian struggle who run our news and thought manufacturing industry. Trust the real over the ideal American every time.
