Prayer Requests and Praise Report

Prayer Requests and Praise Report February 21, 2013

For a reader struggling to find work, we pray to the Lord.

Also, a reader writes:

I know a woman who is in a great struggle since she wants to be baptised but is also in a lesbian relationship. Please include her in your prayers.

Father, hear our prayer that she can place her full trust in Jesus Christ to supply her with the love she seeks. Mother Mary, pray for her. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Another reader writes:

Please pray for one of my brother deacons, Gene, who is undergoing radiation treatment today for a brain tumor at the Mayo Clinic.

May God bless you and all who pray for the intentions you post.

Father, grant Gene complete healing. Give wisdom, knowledge, skill and compassion to his caregivers and peace, grace, and strength to all who love him. Mother Mary, St. Luke, and St. Peregrine, pray for him. We ask this through Christ our Lord.

Another reader writes:

My fiancee and I are in need of some prayer.

She’s been out of work since early December when her temp contract with Disney expired. They were very happy with her work but company policy prevented them from keeping her on, and they couldn’t get a slot open for her on staff. So she’s been out of work for nearly three months.

Anyway, so she’s been going on interviews, and today has a second round interview for a great event planning job, and yesterday had an interview at a financial firm. We’re in really bad need of the money; my job doesn’t pay all that well, and we’re trying to save for our wedding. We’re sort of running on fumes here.

Please pray for her, that she’ll get one of these jobs (preferably the event planning gig), so that we’ll be able to better save for our wedding and eventual move for when I start graduate school.

Father, hear our prayer for this young couple that they find the work and money they need and get off to a good start in their new life. Holy Family, pray for them. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Finally, a reader writes:

First, the praise. I was officially offered a job, and will begin Monday. Whew. It’s a real job, too. For the first time in years, no contract or temp, but actual full time employment with words like retirement and pensions thrown in the agreement. So thanks for the prayers on that one.

Now for the prayer requests. First, please pray for my Mom. She has been hit with multiple sharp, burning pains all over her, starting in her shoulders and now in her hips and waist area. She went from being up and about like nothing wrong a couple months ago to needing a walker just to move from one place to another. And she’s in constant pain. The doctors are trying to figure out what’s wrong, but so far haven’t been able to and the pain itself continues to get worse. Plus, of course, pray for my wife’s employment. We still need more than I’ll be making, though one spouse working is infinitely better than neither working with four homeschooled kids and a Mom needing help. So a round of praise and thanks, and a couple more prayers if you can spare them.

Father, thank you for giving my reader work. We praise you for this great gift. We ask that you would give his wife work as well and that you would grant complete healing to his Mom. And we ask that you would help them offer these trials to you in union with Christ Crucified. Mother Mary and St. Joseph and St. Luke, pray for them. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
