Patheos’ Catholic Channel Has a Terrific New Writer Coming Aboard!

Thanks to my awesome chops as a Highly Connected, Powerful and Wealthy Professional Catholic[TM] I am happy to be able to say…

[taunting childish singsong]I know who it iiiis. I know who it iiiis.[/taunting childish singsong]

But I’m not telling till Fearless Leader Lizzie Scalia makes the big announcement. Still and all, welcome awesome new writer! I tingle with anticipation.

You can guess all you want, Gentle Reader. In fact, I encourage it. But wild horses couldn’t drag it out of me.

That said, go here, if your curiosity is too unbearable, and you will learn some valuable information to tide you over till the announcement.

Great News! Simcha Fisher is on Patheos!

    Rick Astley?
    I can dream…

    • joannemcportland

You just made my day. :)

    • Dr. Eric

I do love a good Rick Roll.

  • Domenico Bettinelli

    Amy Welborn, come on down.

  • Aric

So this is the Pope emeritus is up to!

  • Jim Janknegt

Mike Flynn??? One can hope; he deserves a wide audience.

  • Noah D

    John C. Wright?

  • Terry

    Cardinal Mahony! yayeeeeeeeeeeeee!

  • Shane

    Michael Voris? ;)

  • Scotty

Let us all welcome Gary Wills with open arms!

  • Clare Krishan

If its Fr Barron – no need.
His pretty famous visage has been front -n- center of the Catholic Channel home page for … forevah!
(tip to Pagemaster – that channel page needs serious re-tweeking.
Its not beautiful. Its not good. And its not true. Be glad we’re not playing baseball: 3 strikes and we’d be out Just kidding: we’re catholic, universally united behind Chesterton’s “If a thing’s worth doin’, its worth doin’ badly”

  • Charlotte Dey

    Erin Manning, that’s my guess!

    • Melissa Fry

Oh I hope its Erin! She’s the model of what every Catholic should strive to be.

      • Mark Shea

I’m pretty sure that Mary is the model of what every Catholic should strive to be. :)

        • Godwin Delali Adadzie

          Right on Point!

  • Thomas L. McDonald

    I’m guessing Jeff Miller.

  • Thinkling

Don’t know who it is, but some of the suggestions would be great. And some are just good laughs (Pope Emeritus, that was good).

A couple of good Mike Flynn types would be William Briggs or Stacy Trasancos. WB would be great, although Stacy just got a new page so coming here would be unlikely.

  • The Crescat

You know she hates being called “Lizzie” right?

    • Mark Shea

She hates “Liz”. Lizzie, I was informed, was acceptable. I think “My Liege” is also okay.

      • Thomas L. McDonald

I too was once told “ixnay on the Izzylay.” I just call her “The Boss.”

  • Godwin Delali Adadzie

    It’s me :) It’s me :) It’s me :)

  • Steve

Mark, I just really want you to know that I’m probably not allowed to write down a ungrammatical stream of enough profanity to make Samuel L. Jackson cry in your comments, but I really wish I could after getting Rickrolled.

    • Margaret

You and me both. Mark, one of my teens bears a scary resemblance to Rick Astley, especially when he borrows my trench coat. Any more of this nonsense, and you can’t act all surprised and shocked if I send him to show up on your doorstep some morning with a boombox.

  • Tom

    William F. Buckley Jr.’s ghost?

  • Elaine

    I hope it’s Simcha!

    • Evan

That’s my hope as well, and since Mark said “terrific new writer,” that gives me good reason for hope.

  • Robert

Not sure, but no doubt it will be another Dolanite. It fits the mold here very well.

  • Will

    Your are bad, bad bad.

  • Mike

Is it Mr. John Allen ;)

  • Lori Pieper

I’d just like to point out that our present Pope is a pretty awesome writer too. It would be beyond awesome if he had a blog!

    • Lori Pieper

Did I just use “awesome” twice in a single paragraph? Sorry.

  • MClark

I wish the Atheism channel would get Tim O’Neill from and make it worth his while to write at least one book review per month.
