Prayer Request

A reader writes:

I am an adult confirmation candidate, a convert from Protestantism. I have attended Mass since the beginning of 2012, I have followed Church discipline as much as I know it, and I believe and profess all that the Holy Catholic Church teaches, etc. By virtue of not actually being Catholic, I have only been able to watch and pray as others receive Communion.

The Lord willing, that will change this Saturday, as I am confirmed by the bishop. The Lord willing, I say, because I have become unsure in recent days. Please pray for me.

Father, give your servant the gifts of faith, hope, and love and help him to trust and obey Jesus Christ.  If he is uncertain, give him the grace to know he is under  no compulsion and can take his time.  Bring him in your peace to the Church.  Mother Mary and St. Paul, pray for him.  We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Beautiful. Conversion stories at any stage just humble me. All is grace.
    Amen to Mark’s prayer too.

During Holy Week, my wife and I returned to the Catholic Church. It’s been a short while for her, eighteen years for me. Long story; good to be home. The Holy Spirit truly does soften hearts. Prayers ascending for this man.

I made the same journey, waiting over 3 years for resolution of complex marriage issues. Fear not. The Eucharist will be everything you long for, and much more.

Our Lord wants to give Himself to you. Pray at the Tabernacle, go to Adoration, do anything you can to be close to Him. You will find strength.

May your faith always be supported by divine grace.
By the way, not relevant in this case, since it will be resolved soon, but when you are baptized and have made a formal profession of faith, you can receive communion, even before being confirmed. In fact. most people receive communion before confirmation. Just to clarify for those who may not know.
