Prayer Requests

Prayer Requests August 10, 2013

A reader writes:

Hi. This is like the second or third time I’ve asked you to pray for my (sometimes suicidal) depression, but here I am again. Things have been rough lately. Very very rough. Prayers, please, until I get to my psychiatrist on Monday.

The priest to whom I had confessed some of my above dark thoughts said that one of his friends committed suicide two weeks ago. I can feel nothing but sympathy for everyone involved.

In an additional, particularly Jobian twist to my life, I have been having a minor but recurring skin condition for the past few months. It’s not painful, but it is worrisome.

Father, hear our prayer that this mean find grace, light, and hope and that the grief his priest is bearing would be healed. Give his caregiver grace, wisdom, skill, and the ability to help him find the healing he needs. Also, that the man who committed suicide find your mercy and peace. Finally, we ask for the healing of my readers skin condition. Mother Mary, St. Luke, and St. Dymphna, pray for him. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Another reader writes:

Can you please post a request for prayers for my sister (and her husband) who is entering her final months of pregnancy, with her first child? Everything’s been great so far, but would appreciate prayers for continued health of mother and child, and a full, happy, and healthy life ahead for the baby (and parents, too, of course!).

Also, I would like to request prayers for a personal intention I’ve been struggling with.

Father, hear our prayer for a healthy and happy delivery for mom and baby, and for my reader’s special intention. Mother Mary, pray for them. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
