Prayer Request

A reader writes:

Could you please pray and/or ask your readers for prayers for our family. My husband will be jobless come June 30th. We have been applying for jobs like crazy everywhere and nothing has materialized at this point. We have 5 small kids including a new one that we welcomed in October. I am starting to get really worried. Please help pray that he finds a job that pays a living wage for our family.

Father, hear our prayer that this man find a good job at a living wage. Till that comes, grant them grace, peace, strength, consolation, faith in your Providence, hope, and love. Mother Mary and St. Joseph, pray for them. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Don’t worry. I say that not to be flip, but from experience. When the economy crashed, I lost 2 jobs within a year, and my wife lost her job that she’d had for almost 10 years. Times tightened, but we never missed a meal, and we’re now both in jobs we like much better than any of the old jobs. God provides. You’ll be in our prayers.

Without violating privacy or attracting weirdo’s, for these sorts of requests where they live (city) and what industry could attract networking leads.

We went through a tough time like this too. Eventually my husband landed a good position in a very good company. The best thing that came out of it is that my husband and I dropped out of the rat race for a while, really tightened our belts, and experienced a kind of spiritual retreat. We started every day with prayer, the readings, and meditation. We went to daily mass together, and ended our day with prayer as well. He helped me tons with the kids, and started really helping them with their catechism for the first time ever. He has a very demanding job again but most of the great habits we initiated together during that time have continued. Now work comes firmly in second place… God bless you in your struggle.
