Prayer Request May 13, 2014

A reader writes:

I am asking prayers for my neighbor, Gladys Brown, who is very critically ill. She has been on kidney dialysis for over 20 years, during which time she raised three children. Last fall it was discovered that a mass is growing at the top of her spine. It is now causing significant interference in brain function. She is scheduled to have surgery on it Thursday. The surgery would be high-risk for a normal healthy person, which she is not. But it is very clear that the tumor, though not cancerous, will kill her anyway if it continues to grow. Her husband, Tom, is heartsick. In conjunction with praying for her, I am asking you to please beg GK Chesterton to intercede for her, since there is now a cause for his sainthood opened up. Thank you.

Father, hear our prayer for a completely successful surgery and for her complete healing in body, soul, and spirit. Give her caregivers grace, wisdom, knowledge, counsel, compassion, skill, and the proper technology to assist in her complete healing. Give her and all who love her, especially Tom and her children, grace, peace, strength, consolation, faith, hope, and love. Mother Mary, St. Luke, and G.K. Chesterton, pray for them all. We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
