My Excellent Videocasting Adventure and How You Can Help! April 8, 2010

Hey all y’all:

I’m writing you because of a fantastic new opportunity to serve the Body of Christ that has come into view in the past couple of weeks. Starting this April, in addition to the blog you’ve come to know and (dare I say it?) enjoy, I will begin offering high quality, live, interactive videocasts that will help you and other Catholics to understand and live your faith more fully and also connect with others who desire to do the same. All of the content that is available on my blog will of course still be available as a freebie and we will even make some of the video material free too, along with other very cool offerings available for a very reasonable fee to view and participate (as in, f’rinstance, a course).

The deal is this: We will have three ways of participating: the Non-Member, the Registered Member and the Premium Member. What does that mean? Behold!:

The Non-Member (Surfer) – This is the J Random visitor to my blog who is not registered. These folks will have access to my main pages, store, blogs, podcasts, and some freebie downloads. Alas, they will not be able to interact during live events.

The Registered Member – Becoming a Registered Member of my blog costs nothing, nada, zip, zero. zilch. You just choose a User Name and Password. Registered Members will have access to everything the non-member does, but can also watch video on demand, receive video vignettes, access free courses, and they will have some ability to interact during live events. Registered Members can also sign up for paid courses at full price.

The Premium Member – The Premium Member has access to everything the Registered Member does, plus free live and on-demand courses and a significant DISCOUNT on all resources and store purchases. Becoming a Premium Member will most likely cost $7.99 per month (12 montly payments) or $59.99 per year (one annual payment).

The webcasts will be live and interactive, allowing you to watch the talk in real time and also allowing you to send me questions so that I can respond in real time. The technology that Paladin (the cool team of webheads who concocted this stuff) has amassed is slathered in Awesome Sauce and, ‘ow you say?, not cheesy (no fisheye lens with that Numa Numa Guy vibe, gobs of bandwidth for a really smooth image, a really nifty and powerful tech setup that looks and sounds first rate, and very nice tech geeks who are all Catholic). Basically, it will look as nice as this video.

Hi! It’s me again in textual form! And what I need is your help to make sure that the courses I offer will scratch where you guys itch. In short, I need you to just click here and fill out this survey.

Much obliged! We hope to get this up and live by early April! With your help, we’ll get there!

I’m going to leave this at the top of the page for the next month so that we get a good survey sample. New blog content will slide in underneath. Thanks again!
