to some poor soul who imagines there’s a Perfect Church out there.
I’ve sometimes thought of writing a letter of complaint from a disgruntled Trad complaining about how it’s been forty years since the Council and how everything is worse than it was before the Council. Heterodoxy is rampant. The government is overtly hostile the Church. The Church is shot through with bishops who compromise their own teaching. Everything sucks.
Then I’ll date it “363 AD”.
Tradition is the living faith of the dead. Traditionalism is the dead faith of the living.
