Prayer Requests

A reader writes:

My daughter Gabrielle’s academic advisor, chair of her department and beloved professor and supporter was killed in a motorcycle accident last Saturday. His name is Nathanial (Nacho) Cordova and he was an amazing blessing to Gabrielle especially when the stresses of school became too much for her. She was so grateful to him that she gave him some of her art at the end of last semester. He leaves behind a wife and three children, one of whom has a serious medical condition.

Gabrielle is taking this very hard so I ask for prayers for her as she has lost someone she trusted deeply and who was a rock for her in school. She will miss him terribly when she goes back in August.

I never met him and have no idea about his spiritual life but I know God is merciful and I pray for the repose of his soul and for his family and friends. He apparently was beloved by many.

Father, hear our prayer for the repose Mr. Cordova’s soul and for grace, strength and consolation for all those who love him. Mother Mary, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Another reader writes:

Please pray for a very close friend of mine who just miscarried her first child at 3 weeks. They had been trying to conceive for a while and losing the baby after only a few days of joy after finding out she was pregnant was very hard.

Father, hear our prayer that this little child be received into your presence. Grant strength, peace, and consolation to his mother and father. Mother Mary and the Holy Innocents, pray for this family. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
