Just Prowling Around

Just Prowling Around November 15, 2007

with-a-loud-cry.jpgI didn’t feel much like posting today, and the main reason is because I’m so tired. Exhausted! So I’ll post about this then. I have been engaged in very intense meetings with people over the past several weeks. There’s all kinds of stuff going on in the lives of the people of our community. And lots of it threatens the very life, the very existence of this community. This community always feels like it is on the brink of extinction. It never feels safe. It never feels secure. It never feels like we’ve made it. As soon as I feel like we might just make it, something else happens to threaten its survival. I think the scriptures are on to something when they suggest that the “enemy” prowls around the community, waiting to see who it can devour. I’m not into all the hokus-pokus stuff, but with all that’s going on lately, it certainly does feel like their is a malevolent agenda behind it all. And as a shepherd, these are exhausting times. There’s hardly enough of a lull in the battle to catch a short nap! And I’m tired. Wolves seem to work in shifts. I would love to see this community survive and even thrive. I long for peace-time. Before I go crazy please.

This is a little sketch I did, called “With a Loud Cry”.
