    Catholics will eventually only be known for their opposition to abortion, contraception and same sex marriage. Variations on those issues will revolve around protection of embryos used for invitro fertilization and stem cell research and discrimination against people based on sexual preference. That’s what others will think (along with the obviously negative impacts of abuse) when you tell them you are Catholic. They will be looked at as religious fanatics who want to impose their hierarchical rules on the rest of society.
