Yeah, I took a look at it and it’s longer than most Nancy Pelosi legislation. Who is going to read all that? It’s longer than most novels. Do they think the average Catholic in the pew is going to read that long a document on evangelization? I’m going to wait forth cliff notes.

I agree, the average person probably won’t want to read such a comprehensive document, even if it might be good to do so, and it is certainly not beyond lay leaders to comprehend. It’s actually very pastoral and not heavy on esoteric concepts; I don’t think I’ve seen one yet, and I’ve made it thru the first two chapters. Normally I’m a fast reader but it is slow going, since he covers such a massive amount of topics (albeit briefly) and I want to try to understand what he’s saying. I love that he starts off by calling us to share Christ out of/in light of our JOY in Christ, not as dour rule-keepers (that’s a broad paraphrase). I hope to get thru the rest of the it today. But I suspect it will take more than one reading to catch all that he’s saying.
