My Favorite Thing About Being Married

Marriage is pretty awesome.

I like to picture myself going through life on a motorcycle with my best friend along on the ride in one of those old fashion motorcycle sidecars (side note – Catherine looks good in goggles). Being married is great for many reasons. Among those are: I have someone with whom to binge watch shows, I have someone who’ll tell me my jokes are not as funny as I think they are, I have someone who loves to experiment in the kitchen and create tasty dishes which ultimately end up in my stomach, I have someone who makes me laugh constantly, I have someone who doesn’t judge me for having Domino’s on speed dial, and I have someone who loves to kiss me. These are just a few examples of why being married is great, believe me I could have came up with thousands, but today I want to share with you my absolute favorite:

My most favorite thing about being married is really quite simple.

Every time I leave the house, my sweet wife watches me drive away from our front porch with our dogs by her side. And each time, she gives me the sign language hand signal for “I love you.” This may seem a bit cheesy but I can’t express how much this simple act of love means to me. It doesn’t matter if I’m going to be gone all day working or if I’m going to be gone an hour, she watches me drive away from the porch. And each time I leave the house, I’m left with that image of my beautiful wife telling me she loves me.
