Promise to Prove It All Night

Find somebody itching for something to start …

Promise,” Pedro the Lion
Promise What You Will,” Iron & Wine
The Promised Land,” Bruce Springsteen
Promised You a Miracle,” Simple Minds
Promises,” The Cranberries
Promising Light,” Iron & Wine
Props,” Daniel Amos
Proud Mary,” Creedence Clearwater Revival
Proud Mary,” Leonard Nimoy
Proud Utility Infielder,” Houseguest
Prove It All Night,” Bruce Springsteen

Leonard Nimoy’s “Proud Mary” is arguably better than William Shatner’s “Rocket Man,” but I have to say I really enjoyed Shatner’s full-on Denny Crane rendition of Pulp’s “Common People.”

    Not much in this range:
    “Promise” – Violent Femmes
“The Prophecy” – from LOTR: FOTR soundtrack
    “Protex Blue” – The Clash

  • “The Promise” Tracy Chapman
    “Promised Land” Ani DiFranco
    “The Promised Land” Bruce Springsteen
“Promised Land” Thea Ennen and the Algorithms
    “Protect and Survive” Jethro Tull
    “Proud Mary” CCR
    “Prove Yourself” Radiohead
That Jethro Tull song is an odd bird. Off the album “A”, which was supposed to be an Ian Anderson solo project and thus sounds a little off, it’s a dig on a 1980 British public information  pamphlet of the same name which purported to be an instruction manual in event of a nuclear war. Which is just about as odd as it sounds.

Here at the office, I’ve got nothing between “Pressure” (Billy Joel) and “Put a Lid On It” (Squirrel Nut Zippers).  I need to get more of my collection in here.

And I love Shatner’s “Common People.”
