Following after the theme of last weekβs βdrivingβ songs, hereβs the word on the street.
I know this is where the sidewalk ends β¦
β59th Street Bridge Song (Feeling Groovy),β Simon and Garfunkel
βAccidently Kelly Street,β Frente
βAcross 110th Street,β Bobby Womack
βAlphabet Street,β Prince
βFannin Street,β Tom Waits
βIn the Streets of Boston,β Dropkick Murphys
βJoeyβs on the Street Again,β Boomtown Rats
βKillermont Street,β Aztec Camera
βMoon Over Bourbon Street,β Sting
βOn Hyndford Street,β Van Morrison
βOn My Street,β Hoodoo Gurus
βPapa Dance on Olvera Street,β Terry Taylor
βPositively Fourth Street,β Billy Bragg

βTakinβ It to the Streets,β The Doobie Brothers
βThese Streets,β Paolo Nutini
βWalking Down Your Street,β The Bangles
βWhere the Streets Have No Name,β U2
βYazoo Street Scandal,β The Band
That list was already way too long, so Iβve filtered out the Springsteen as a separate list:
βBackstreetsβ
βDoes This Bus Stop at 82nd Street?β
βThe E Street Shuffleβ
βIncident on 57th Streetβ
βRacing in the Streetβ
βRacing in the Streetβ (Townes Van Zandt)
βStreets of Fireβ
βStreets of Philadelphiaβ
The βE Street Shuffleβ there is Bruce and his band playing along with The Roots in Denmark. The Roots seem to be able to sit in with anyone on any song, anywhere. The last time I saw them live was in a Germantown schoolyard, as the opening act for President Obama. I really hope to get to see that same tour next year.
