It was a great sadness to learn today of the passing of Joshua Goldberg, Editor-in-Chief of Lucianne.com and Blogs Lucianne Loves. He was the son of Lucianne and the late Sidney Goldberg, only brother of Jonah Goldberg and husband to Chantal.
In the way of the internets, I had never met Joshua personally, but our cyber-acquaintance was one I treasured. Over the past year or so we had exchanged dozens of emails, mostly pertaining to my techno-ignorance in posting to BLL, but Joshua’s missives had to them a tone that — though professional — always managed to convey a personal sweetness and warmth that suggested he was a patient and peaceful man who loved people, probably because he knew who he was, and who loved him.
Our last correspondence was on February 1, and once again I signed off form our exchange thinking that Joshua Goldberg was the rare testament to what good parenting and a strong family foundation can produce: a man who is professional but kind; not just kind, but a true gentleman; not just a true gentleman, but a mensch. His death at such a young age is awful to contemplate, and my heart is broken for his family.
Having lost both of my parents and, in the last few years, three brothers and a dear brother-in-law, I know that to lose a parent is difficult, and to lose a beloved sibling is a constant ache. To outlive one’s child…that is a grief that does not bear imaging.
Joshua Goldberg is gone too soon. Please join me in whispering up a prayer of sympathy and condolence to the Goldberg Family.

Oh dear me. I love that Lucianne site. It’s must several times a day. It sounds like a terrible tragedy. Such sadness. May God embrace Joshua and give strength to the family.
