Sleepless in St. Peter's

Or, actually, just a bit outside St. Peter’s Basilica, where I am attempting to prepare for the big Vatican/Blogger Meet-Up that begins around 9:30, eastern, which is proving a bit of a challenge, on little sleep. 

I took a brief nap yesterday after the beatification and an alternately amusing/troubling adventure that had me wandering around an unfamiliar part of Rome like a chicken with the staggers, (and I really can’t wait to write about all of that in the coming days) then after supper, a lively chat with a friend and viewing some of the images of the day, I wrote up a piece for the Wapo, and filed my Tuesday column at First Things and figured to bed! 

Then I made the mistake of checking my email one more time and discovered the news about bin Laden and was, of course, up all night…so my blathering at the meet-up should be interesting…or, at least, I hope they will be. 

If I actually get something prepared, I will post it with a report on the proceedings! 

But pray for me!
