logistically impossible to hug all the nuns but hugging a Pope might prove to be more practical…

… Oh! Em! Gee! Pope Benedict is coming to Philly in 2015. Philly is practically within arms reach!

Oooo. Oooo. And I bet he’ll have a few of the boys with him and Gorgeous George too. Better start setting aside some bail money. Good thing I got that attorney on retainer.

PHILADELPHIA — Archbishop Charles Chaput of Philadelphia welcomed the decision by Pope Benedict XVI to hold the 2015 World Meeting of Families in Philadelphia as a moment of “grace” that will provide an important opportunity for families to celebrate and share their distinctive role as the domestic Church.

I still wish I could hug all the nuns though. Le sigh.

  • I have a friend who has MEGA crush on on Msgr. Guido Marini.  I bet he’ll be here, too. Should I alert him to be on the lookout?

I don’t write in caps very much because my brother caps everything…but I am SO EXCITED about PapaB coming to America — may he live as long and may I find the funds to book it to Philadelphia!    When I read it was happening, I jumped up from my chair in my office and ran down to the sacristy to tell the news to my 20-year old daughter (the sacristan) and her boss, the liturgy coordinator.  I have already decided — and announced to them then and there- that– in 2014 and 2015, I will NOT renew by 365-day Disneyland annual pass in order to ‘seed’ my Philly trip.
My husband, on the other hand, is terrified at the thought of me in Philly “The crime!  It’s a dangerous town!”
I then told him about the fact — recently published — that the Vatican State has the highest crime rate in the world.  That quieted him.  For now.

I went to Philly a few years ago with my husband and had not one ounce of trouble. Everyone was very nice and it was a beautiful city.  I loved it and have been wanting to go back ever since.   I am definitely looking forward to 2015!!

I’m so excited about this!  I live about a half an hour outside of Philly so I plan on heading up there when he visits.
