Forget the Christmas music, how about some lovely, seasonally appropriate, Advent music instead… November 21, 2012

… Tomorrow Christmas music begins. Never mind that it started playing in department stores as early as October. If you’re as sick of it as I am then you’ll definitely enjoy this – proper Advent music.

It’s everything you need to build an atmosphere of spiritual anticipation for the coming of Christ. That’s what Advent is; the word “Advent” is from the Latin adventus meaning “coming”. Jesus isn’t here yet. He’s not in the manager so put the Bambino down and back away from the creche.

Be still and expectant like a mother in her ninth month waiting for the birth of her child. Decorating our homes for Christmas is just the “nesting” stage. This music provides the perfect soundtrack to the excitement of waiting for the Nativity. Plus, all the proceeds go directly to the good Benedictines.

“When you purchase Advent at Ephesus from our website, a significant amount of the proceeds will go directly to our community. The funds will assist us in paying the remaining debt on the guesthouse in which we live. We can then begin to look towards our goal of the construction of our permanent monastery building. May God reward you!”
