The Saddest Commute…

… Back story – my car battery died and I don’t know the anti-theft code to reset the car stereo to get it working again. I also have no A/C in my car. So I have the saddest commute into work ever.

But it’s not all bad. Sometimes I pull up next to someone who has their windows down and radio on loud enough for me to listen. And I’m all like…. OOoooo. That’s my jam.

Except, some people apparently find this behavior super creepy. Especially when you start to sing along. Because the guy I pulled up next to was like…

And then he turned down his stereo and rolled up the windows. Can you believe that? How stingy.

    You are hilarious!

I had a summer like that. No AC sucks. I had vinyl seats so it was terrible, plus no shade to park in.

    • Romulus

I spent three summers like that. In New Orleans.

Is it possible to get the code reset? Is it in the manual? Can you call the dealership? I’m listening to a CD of the Rosary in my care lately but my driver side window doesn’t open and it’s $400 to fix.

    • Charlotte

You can get it from the manufacturer. They charge–in Honda’s case, $20.

  • Manny

You would have been better off if the radio had been stolen. ;)

Can’t you drive with an ipod and headphones on?

“Can’t you drive with an ipod and headphones on?”

That’s a good recipie for being hit by a train.

      • Manny

It depends how loud you have it. If you keep it low it’s no different than the car radio. But if that’s an issue, how about she brings along a portable radio and places it in the front passenger seat.

        • TheodoreSeeber

Yeah- or adds speakers to the ipod. The problem is the headphones- there’s a reason it is illegal to drive with headphones on. It blocks sound from other sources.

          • Manny

Oh I didn’t know it was illegal. That does make sense. Thanks.

My AC has the habit of only turning on after I hit a certain speed!

If you have a Honda, here is a page on how to get the reset code:

I also just got a lot of Google hits for

    car stereo reset code

which appears to include other types of car.
