Now it’s time to play, “Is It A Nun, Nazgûl, or John Kerry?” …

… Naturally it’s a drinking game. However, you don’t need beer goggles to mistake this photo of John Kerry, wearing a traditional Balinese “endek”, for one of those habit-less rogue nuns. It’s an easy enough mistake to make. Just look at it…

Speaking of habit-less rogue nuns … when you get an endorsement from Nancy Pelosi, you might be doing Catholicism wrong.

In case you can’t tell, the one with the lapel pin is the nun. The other one is a Nazgûl.

Bottoms up!

Not only does the none wear no habit, she also wears a necklace and coiffures her hair. Her Spouse is not impressed when she tries to impress others than Him.

To be fair, it depends on the context of the picture. The necklace, sure, complain about that, but if the picture is from some TV appearance, the makeup and hairdo may have been imposed by the studio people.

Can you imagine “studio people” “imposing” hair and make-up on a nun 50 years ago??? Nope, I’m not willing to give her a pass. Sorry.

        • Heather

I’m not making excuses for this particular nun, I just know (habit-wearing, faithful to the Magisterium) sisters in real life who make media appearances on occasion and yes, they sometimes end up with makeup on so that they don’t get watshed out by the studio lights. It’s not their idea, but if NOT having it is going to distract from whatever they are saying, they’ll put up with it.

This particular nun has ear rings.

    Grrrr.

  • Quittin’ time at Tara!

His botoxy face makes him look like Virginia Woolf.

A little bit more blush and I would have difficulty in identifying the nun.
