And then there’s the ROSEMARY’S BABY mini-series…

Yeah, that.

Well, at least it’s not the dreadful sounding adaptation that Michael Bay was planning to do with Jessica Alba and Doris Roberts (hooray for all the fans who shared their outrage and effectively killed this project); they’d even been planning to change the title to “The Sacrifice.”

This mini-series version is directed by Agniezska Holland (who recently worked on the excellent American TV adaptation of THE KILLING which was a Danish series), and written by James Wong (from AMERICAN HORROR STORY).

This version is set in Paris (huh? You mean France? Why?), and will star Zoe Saldana as Rosemary. I am not convinced there needed to be a remake of this 1968 excellent film (based upon Ira Levin’s chilling novel), but we’ll see…but why a TV series? Would not a two hour movie suffice? It makes me wonder what new material will take up the additional story-telling time…perhaps shots of the Eiffel Tower and the Champs-Elysees?

I can’t say I am looking forward to this.

Jason Isaacs is slated to play Roman Castavet. This makes me hopeful.

It has to be better than the awful 2006 remake of The Omen.

Yeah that WAS awful, wasn’t it? I was in a play with Liev Schreiber in grad school; he’s a great actor but even he could not make it work…
