N. Carolina Pastor wants to trap LGBT folks behind electrified fences (evil)

“Build a great, big, large fence — 150- or 100-mile long — put all the lesbians in there . . . do the same thing for the queers and the homosexuals, and have that fence electrified so they can’t get out”

This is sin! Church, lets name this as evil and lets recognize that hatred justified by the bible is NEVER biblical. Heartbreaking.

Pastor Charles L. Worley of Providence Road Baptist Church — located at 3283 Providence Mill Rd, Maiden, NC 28650 — is seen here from a service posted to the church’s website dated May 13, 2012 calling for the ultimate death of “queers and homosexuals.”

There is just not much I can say lovingly about that man’s view of God. . . so guess I won’t try right now.

The fact that he is a so-called minister of God and uses his platform for hate is appalling! This man does not even know what love is and the way he says, “Praise God! That would be the first,” is blasphemous because he does not really mean it so he is just taking the name of the Lord in vain literally and spiritually in his leadership.

  • This is disgusting, no matter your views on the sinfulness of homosexuality.

I am a Christian and this man does not speak for me.

  • The congregation was cheering him on. That’s perhaps that scariest part of all.

  • Alarmshack

The Bible does not justify that kind of hate. That was said in ignorance. I am a Christian and I know what this man preaches on this video contradicts the Word of God. Just because The Bible doesn’t condone something, doesn’t mean it justifies hate. Jesus was always being ridiculed by the “religious” leaders because Jesus hung out with people that the others had labeled “scum of the earth”.

Typical Christian inciting violence against gays. The resemblance of this pastors proposals to those actually implemented by Adolph Hitler during the Holocaust is no accident. There is nothing remarkable about this except it’s honesty.

It’s a shame that so few Christian leaders (none that I am aware of) have said anything about this, or denounced homophobia. I’ve only seen one other blog post (by a gay Christian writer) denouncing this.

Wow. No matter what you actually think about whether homosexuality is permissible, this is horrible. Jesus accepts us while we’re still sinners and if that’s not the case then we all, myself and Mr Worley included, deserve to be rounded up like animals and fenced in as he describes.

The audience even cheered “Amen”. As a Christian, even I won’t blindly listen to what a pastor says.

sincerely appreciated eugene cho’s response to this. did you see it?  posted a part of it here http://mjkimpan.com/2012/05/22/i-believe/ || whole post from eugene is here || http://eugenecho.com/2012/05/21/dear-pastor-charley-worley-we-condemn-your-words-of-hatred-and-cruelty-please-repent/

I would agree that homosexuality is a sin in scripture. However, so is stealing, lusting, bearing false witness, murder and so on. In fact, let’s just build a fence around the world because we are all sinners. On second thought, we already have such a fence. We call it death. No matter what sin we commit the cure is always found in true repentence.

Instead of caging people in with fences we should be welcoming folks into our congregations. There, they should receive godly knowledge and correction, but with love and not with the hate this “pastor” espouses.

Hate the sin (he’s got that down)Love the sinner (he needs to work on that one…)

Jesus said that we need to love our enemies, not lock them in electrified fences.Sure, I’m “again” homosexuality, but I have several fairly close friends who are gay. They know where I stand, and they know that I don’t tolerate it, but I still love them, and I am trying to get them to see that they will go to hell if they don’t turn. But I’m not just going to let them die and go to hell after locking them in an electrified fence! That’s just like the Spanish Inqusition all over again! Someone doesn’t believe what you belive, so you kill them.Pardon my language, but that’s just absolute bullcrap!

    Dear God in Heaven.

NOT IN MY NAME.NOT IN MY NAME.With Jesus my saviour I cry to him to forgive his Church. Exactly the same attitudes caused the continuation of slavery.Hate is hate and Jesus said it is equal to murder.Pastor Charles L. Worley of Providence Road Baptist Church  – you are a murderer and no brother of mine.
