    The Justice Vs. Vengeance debate…

    Interestingly enough at a discussion group I was involved in at my Unitarian Universalist Church one of the questions was “Is vengeance always wrong?”

    After a few people around the circle talked, we went to the dictionaries an found the general definition of…

    ” …infliction of injury, harm, humiliation, or the like, on a person by another who has been harmed by that person…”

    When the conversation came to me, I felt I had to say YES vengeance is always wrong… because in every story and anecdote about it I have ever heard there is also the element of wanting/desiring/taking satisfaction in/enjoying the vengeance… I believe that in taking that enjoyment in harming another you are dishonoring yourself.

    Seek justice.
