Quick Update On The Blogging Situation (News I’ve Read Rather Than Written)

Current situation? Still visiting the physiotherapist for my aching shoulders about two to three times a week, but things are improving at a rapid pace... unless I do too much typing or exert myself too much. I'll get better but it's taking time.[Know what hurts most? Removing tape. I can handle avoiding poking aches and pains, but removing tape and annoying residual tape-mess is just irritating and icky. Can't even look at bandaids without crinkling nose at this rate.]Since I'm awake at 4am … [Read more...]

Berlin Congress And Marian Call Interview Out On The Skeptical Inquirer Site!

This is very cool - they've printed my more recent articles online! In the September/October 2012 edition, the magazine focused on arts and the intersection with skepticism - so here's a link with the interview with musician Marian Call: The first song that I ever heard from you was a live performance. I was at Dragon*Con and suddenly there was this person in the middle of the Parsec Awards performing on a typewriter. The song was “I’ll Still Be a Geek After No One Thinks It’s Chic,” a.k.a. “The … [Read more...]

Biologist-with-a-twist Dr Carin Bondar is stripping down to the bare truth of nature's X-rated side. … [Read more...]

By the way, his videos are all free. And available on YouTube.Remember how I was previously suggesting good resources for children during the holiday season? Check his site out: a world where the content of digital images and videos can no longer be taken at face value, an unlikely hero fights for the acceptance of truth. … [Read more...]

Christmas And Seasonal Gift Suggestions For The Young Critical Thinker

These are by no means exhaustive lists, but recently I popped in a Twitter suggestion that people check out my book Token Skeptic: Interviews, Essays and Observations to get a round-up of some of the more recent figures who are active in skepticism (and what is the Christmas season without pimping your own work, let's face it - I have a podcast to run, after all...), and it got me thinking that I should blog a general round-up before Christmas madness gets underway and seeking books becomes all … [Read more...]

Breaking – Police Montréal: Dennis Markuze Arrested (Again)

For details on who Dennis Markuze / David Mabus is, there is a summary on the Friendly Atheist - but essentially, if you also have been spammed since 2006 like I have via email, Facebook, Twitter, had nasty comments attached to you via YouTube videos and even worried about him turning up at conventions in the north of the US - looks like the Montréal Police have stepped up. Again. Thanks for the early seasonal present, officials of Montreal, it is much appreciated after years of nonsense. It'll … [Read more...]
