Covenant Marriage Index

Covenant Marriage Index January 20, 2011

Some time ago, I got into a dispute about covenant marriage with my friend Stephen, who blogs at The Last Delta-T.  I’m defending my position in a series of posts, both because I have problems with a subset of anti-marriage rhetoric that is sometimes used by people on the left (particularly my friends!) and because I think my views on marriage are a decent intro to some of my virtue ethics beliefs generally.

  4. What Marriage is Not – A recent NYT-featured couple typified some of the problems with the idea of marriage as a  purely legal institution
  5. Evolution is Not Destiny – A reply to critiques of marriage rooted in evolutionary psychology
  6. Exercising Self Control – Trying to do morality on my own
  7. Submitting to Others – Letting other people police your actions and character
  8. Whaddya Wanna Get Married For? – Crossposted from my gay marriage debate with Matt.
