An Arkansas man by the name of Maverick Dean Bryan (yes, he’s really named Maverick) has had enough of kids being taught science and math in a fashion laid out by educational experts.  He thinks he knows better and is apparently willing to hang government officials in order to prove it: According to court documents, Bryan threatened to hang the mayors of  Ashdown, Hope, De Queen, Lewisville, Nashville, Prescott and Murfreesboro from the “mighty oaks” on their courthouse lawns if... Read more

Man, the hucksters at crisis pregnancy centers are getting a lot of my time today.  At least this bit is amusing as well as depressing: As I said in my previous post: crisis pregnancy centers pretend to be a medical office, but are really just a propaganda rooms which try to convince women to not have abortions.  Their pretense is wholly dishonest, but then they expect people to trust them once they’re inside.  Somehow Jesus never interferes with this farce. Read more

In 2009 it was concluded by his Archdiocese in Detroit that Rev. Kenneth Kaucheck molested a 16 year-old girl.  He was subsequently removed from his positions within the Church: The Rev. Kenneth Kaucheck, 69, was banned from public ministry by the Archdiocese of Detroit in 2009 after church officials determined he had sexual misconduct in the 1970s with a 16-year-old girl he was counseling as a priest. Last year Tony Yarber, the mayor of Jackson, MS, was under pressure to fix the city’s, to put it nicely, shitty roads.  To much criticism, this is what Yarber posted to twitter at the time: Yes….I believe we can pray potholes away. Moses prayed and a sea opened up. #iseeya #itrustHim #prayerworks — Tony Yarber (@TonyYarber) August 21, 2015 Asked if this is how things are taken care of in Jackson, MS, Yarber responded: @Tweets_McGee_ By Faith…yes — Tony Yarber... Read more

So…Alabama Supreme Court Chief Justice Roy Moore has been suspended from the bench for telling Alabama probate judges to defy the SCOTUS: An Alabama judicial oversight body on Friday filed a formal complaint against Roy S. Last week the Justice Department sent a letter to Gov. Pat McCrory of North Carolina insisting that the state’s bathroom law (insisting that transgender people must use the bathroom of their biological sex) violated the Civil Rights Act.  They gave him until today to respond: It’s deadline day for North Carolina Gov. Pat McCrory. The U.S. Justice Department sent his office a letter Wednesday claiming that the state’s bathroom law is in violation of the Civil Rights Act. They gave... Read more
