The Zeffirelli TV Production on the life of Jesus is to be re-broadcast over this Easter weekend, I just wanted to (thoroughly) commend it to you all, and give broadcast times etc (but you will need some form of Digital TV to watch it)
For any who may not know about this, it’s the definitive TV production on the life of Jesus – actually I’m sure I recall hearing Lew Grade say it was his proudest achievement (and in TV terms that’s saying something) – and it features an acting cast (in supporting roles) almost unsurpassed in any other TV production (Laurence Olivier, Ustinov, Steiger etc),
The Radio Times review this week says it all:…… “age has not withered the power of this vast production”… “proved popular with both religious and secular audiences” “magnificent TV on a scale which producers can only dream of these days”
anyway – it’s on ITV3 (free to air on Freeview and SkyDigi) as follows
part 1: Good Friday 6.10pm to 9pm
part 2: Easter Sunday 4.05pm to 6.50pm
