The atonement discussion continues

Richard has replied to some of my posts on the atonement on his blog and doesnt answer my most critical questions. His comments throughout reveal a very heterodox view of the wrath of God in my book. First he speaks of God just somehow passively allowing evil to pass out of existence then he ends as follows:

” Why do we, or God, punish! Is punishment and end in its self or it its goal something else? Is it not to impress upon the sinner the weight of the majesty that they have offended- The shear wickedness of there act. In short its goal is a perfect repentance.

*Jesus was not punished by the Father, but took our punishment. This is why I normally object to the term punishment. Because it implies someone, normally the Father, punishing Jesus. Whereas Jesus was the one enacting the judgement, the wrath of God, against sinful humanity”

Sorry Richard, I still dont recognise that as biblical christianity nor do I fully yet understand it especially in the context of some of what you say earlier in the post.

Can anyone help me and Richard to speak in the same language and understand each other?
