Making an Impact Outside the Blogdom of God

Making an Impact Outside the Blogdom of God June 9, 2006

There is hope yet for The Daily Duck who replied to my provocative link to him as follows:

“Well, Adrian got one thing right. I am perishing, as are all mortals.”

It is amazing how many of us Christians and nonChristians live our lives as though this were not true. The harsh fact is that the only truly reliable statistic is that 1 out of 1 people die. The question we must all ask ourselves is, “Am I ready to face what comes after death?”

For me it is only because of the confidence I have that God loved me so much that He sent His Son to die on my behalf that I might live forever and can look the prospect of my own death in the eye and say, “Death where is your victory, death where is your sting?” (1 Corinthians 15:55)

I was surprised that my last link didn’t result in more comments on this unbeliever’s blog to reach out to him with the good news. Until he can understand why we think God killing his son is good news, I do not have any confidence that he will be able to accept the gospel. Why is it that such a concept seems to elude even some who call themselves Christians? The answer to that question is also found in 1 Corinthians.

..even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled only to those who are perishing. In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. (2 Corinthians 4:3-4)
